Creativity is work ethic.
We invest in growing companies in different sectors, and here are a few we're extremely proud of.
Conquering the Domestic Market in China
After Shanda Networking Development (SNDA, NASDAQ: GAME.O) was privatized in 2015 for $2.3B, the equity fell into different parties’ hands and no one party had the absolute control of assets. Our team was invited in 2017 as a strategic investor to assist in the reorganization of the business, to aid in the buyout of select investors, and to ensure the integrity of intellectual properties. After working with various stakeholders, financial institutions, and government offices for over 2 years, Shanda was acquired by Century Huatong (A: 002602) at a valuation of over $4B. This acquisition enabled Century Huatong to become the largest internet entertainment company in the A-shares market.
Investing in a Clean Energy Future
Over the years, we've built an impressive track record in the cleantech sector and in 2016, together with a listed company, we established a clean energy fund. Among the many challenges that we faced, the acquisition of a 100 MW PV power station in competition against a state-owned enterprise (SOE) and a publically listed company was particularly tough. We succeeded in our mission nonetheless and our team was instrumental in averting policy and financial risks. The solar plant has been successfully generating clean energy as of last year (2018).
